謹んで新年のご挨拶を申し上げます。
2023年はコロナ禍に課せられていた殆どの制限が撤廃され、皆様の学校におきましても、研修視察や研究渡航などが、徐々に再開され、授業やプログラムも通常通りおこなわれるようになった、再起の年であったとお察しいたします。
NF－JLEPでは2020年より訪日研究を延期していたクイーンズランド大学のペニー・ベイリーさんが、2023年1月に日本で「日本の美術評論家柳宗悦の古代洞窟寺院についての評論」をテーマに研究活動を行いました。ベイリーさんの研究報告書はNF-JLEPウェブサイトで掲載されています。また、2022年12月にインドネシア教育大学から日本へ渡航し、「在日インドネシア人労働者の異文化適応」について研究した、スシ・ウィディアンティさんの報告書も掲載いたしました。

We at the NF-JLEP Association secretariat offer you our heartiest wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.
In 2023, most of the pandemic related restrictions were lifted. We hope that this allowed your school to resume field and research trips and offer coursework and programs more like pre-pandemic times.
For NF-JLEP, 2023 was a year for reactivation. Dr. Penny Bailey, a NF-JLEP’s Research Grant awardee who had postponed her field research since 2020, finally came to Japan to conduct her research entitled A Transnational Analysis of an Ancient Buddhist Site: Japanese art critic Yanagi Sōetsu’s reading of Sekibutsuji (1919). You can read Dr. Bailey’s report on the NF-JLEP website.
Another fellow, Dr. Susi Widianti of the Indonesia University of Education, visited Japan in October to November 2022 for her research on the adaptation of Indonesian employees at Japanese companies. You can read Dr. Widianti’s report, posted in February 2023.
We hope to showcase the activities of many more fellows in 2024 and look forward to receiving your articles on your activities and research related to Japanese language education. Please see our guidelines for writing an article.
