本年も、残すところわずかとなりました。日本語、そして日本に関心を持ってくださったNF-JLEPフェローの皆様、世界の日本語教育の発展にご貢献くださっている皆様に、心から感謝申し上げます。

2017年は、NF-JLEP Associationを発足する記念すべき年となりました。そして、Associationの発足に合わせて、NF-JLEP校における日本語教育の発展を志す若手研究者と大学院生の支援を目的としたサポートプログラム「NF-JLEP訪日研究フェローシップ」の募集を始めることができました。短い募集期間でしたが、各国から申請をいただき、2018年には、将来有望なフェローを日本に迎えられることを大変心待ちにしています。

この他、私達はNF-JLEPプログラムの運営状況を知るため、インドネシアのインドネシア教育大学、スラバヤ国立大学、国立マナド大学の３大学と、ルーマニアのブカレスト大学を訪問させていただきましたが、各校のプログラムの発展のために運営委員の先生方と活発な議論ができたことも、大きな収穫でした。一生懸命に日本語を学び、夢を語るNF-JLEPフェローの姿は、とても励みになりました。

また、東京の事務局にも多くのフェローが訪ねて来てくださいました。フェローの皆さんと顔が見える関係を築きたいと思っていますので、直接お話しができ、本当に楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。皆様、いつでも歓迎いたしますので、ご連絡を心からお待ちしています。

NF-JLEPのさらなる発展のため、引続き尽力して参りますので、どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。

来る年が皆様にとってより良き年でありますことを、祈念しています。

“Season’s Greetings from the NF-JLEP Association”

As 2017draws to a close, all of us at the NF-JLEP Association Secretariat would like to express our sincerest thanks to NF-JLEP fellows who expressed interest in Japan and the Japanese language and to all those who contributed to enhancing Japanese language education around the world.

This past year was a special and exciting one for us, highlighted by the launch of the NF-JLEP Association. Accompanying this launch was the announcement of NF-JLEP’s first support program—the “Research Grant for NF-JLEP Fellows” to enable young faculty members and graduate students to conduct research in Japan. In spite of the short notice, we received many applications from various institutions. We very much look forward to welcoming grant recipients to Japan in 2018.

Also during the year, we visited the Indonesia University of Education, State University of Surabaya, and Manado State University in Indonesia, and the University of Bucharest in Romania to gain an updated understanding of their programs. We had very fruitful discussions with management committee members on ways to improve the respective programs, and we were delighted to meet NF-JLEP fellows striving to enhance their understanding of the Japanese language.

We had the pleasure of welcoming many NF-JLEP fellows to our office in Tokyo, helping us to develop face-to-face connections with fellows. We are looking forward to your visit in the coming year. Please be sure to contact us before your visit.
